The Dempsey Project: A Gourmand’s New Playground

By Priyanka Elhence

Clean eating, cheese and charcuterie grazing platters, gourmet hampers, ethnic nights, celebrity chef pop-ups, cocktails and wines, and a global weekly potluck are all home to the new The Dempsey Project

The recently revamped and relaunched The Dempsey Project  (TDP) now offers a lot more than just an all-day menu. It is on a mission to bring communities and cultures together through quality international cuisine and industry partnerships and collaborations. Its menu is as diverse as it is exciting, curated by homegrown chef and culinary consultant Jeremy Nguee.

Whether you’re craving quality morning coffee and croissants, grazing over an al fresco big breakfast, leisurely tucking in to classic brunch staples, hearty lunches and dinners, or unwinding over aperitifs and cheese platters, TDP’s outdoor verandah or in-store dining space is your address in the hipster Dempsey Hill dining enclave.

The exhaustive all-day lunch menu offers a plethora of delicious choices, be it sandwiches, salads, burgers or nourishing ayurvedic Khichdi bowls, before extending to more filling crowd-pleasers such as pastas, risottos, classic fish and chips, and steak or ribs.

For the health conscious, the ample menu also offers a clean eating section curated by holistic nutritionist Riyana Rupani, founder of Healthy-ish & Happy and the Clean-in-15 programme. It. covers gluten-free, vegetarian, paleo-friendly and vegan dining options. Popular menu choices include Mexican Style Baked Eggs with grain-free flatbread; and Fish & Coconut Curry with cauliflower; a hearty Lamb Shawarma; and the decadent but still gluten- and refined sugar-free Espresso Chocolate Mousse Crunch, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and the Saffron & Orange Cake.

Brunch

Switch over to evening mode with the newly launched Aperitvo for an array of aperitifs and a selection of specially-curated Indian Street, Mini Meze, Cheese and Charcuterie-themed platters. Dinner offers an equally attractive dining line-up, packed with hearty options rife with Middle Easter skewers and mezze platters, Indian kebabs, gyozas, cheese and charcuterie platters, and ample mains including crab angel hair pasta, fall-off-the-bone BBQ pork ribs and the classic TDP Club Sandwich.

The Dempsey Project Egyptian Feast

Presented as a series, the Potluck features one global cuisine each month, from Armenia to Persia, India to Costa Rica, taking diners on an exciting culinary adventure along the Spice Route. February pays homage to Lebanese cuisine, while an upcoming Mongolian feast is in store for Wednesdays in March.
