Hidden on the fifth level of Six Battery Road is Aniba, a “chef kitchen and lounge” that will draw you in with its dark and dramatic interiors, potent cocktails, and a menu comprised of bites and sharing dishes that boast modern Middle Eastern flavors. The mastermind behind the menu is Israeli Chef Meir Adoni, who is constantly driven by innovation and his Moroccan culinary heritage.

Start off with a personal favorite: Smoked Trout Donuts featuring flaked smoked trout and medjool dates wrapped in a yeast batter, deep fried, and finished with warm spices and mandarin gel for that perfect sweet and savory flavor combination. The Hamachi and Watermelon Tartare is a refreshing starter that’s given a kick with a kaffir lime oil drizzle and an Asian-style aioli, while the Crispy Fatayer, with Saint Maure cheese, eggplant, spinach, and caramelized onions, paired with a shot of hamusta soup, is all about texture, heat, and the complex flavor of spices.

In the 13 years it’s been serving up counterside chef specialties and indulgent rice bowls, Fat Cow has built up a loyal fanbase that are sure to love the changes the restaurant has recently implemented. For starters, the establishment welcomes new Head Chef Shingo Iijima, a soft-spoken 37-year-old whose culinary know-how speaks volumes.

As for dessert, look forward to the baked Japanese sweet potato with vanilla ice cream — a sweet finish to an exemplary meal.

TROPICAL SUNDAY CHAMPAGNE BRUNCH AT 15 STAMFORD

Here’s an exciting reason to drag yourself out of the house on a Sunday: 15 Stamford by Alvin Leung at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore recently launched the new Tropical Sunday Champagne Brunch. The luxurious affair brings together a wide variety of live food stations, thematic cocktails and Telmont champagne, as well as live musical entertainment.

Singaporean and Indian favorites are part of the buffet as well, while fried rice, pastas, and various noodle dishes are sure to satisfy your carb cravings. Make a beeline for the Grill Carving and Roast sections, boasting a succulent selection comprised of Wagyu Beef Hanging Tender, Pork Belly Char Siew, Angus Beef Ribeye, and Pasture-fed Lamb Leg.
