A drink-in bar with flights of Penfold's best opens in the heart of town

Homegrown wine and spirits retailer Bottles & Bottles presents its second drink-in concept, 8 by Bottles & Bottles, at Great World City (8 at GWC).

Opened on 1 February, 8 at GWC features a bar with a rotating selection of wines, spirits, and sake at bottle shop prices, with the freedom to order in from other F&B establishments at no additional cost.

Key highlights include celebratory bubblies in the form of Champagne Lombard from Épernay, and the family-run Domaine Maurice Schoech from Alsace. In sake offerings, brews from Dassai line its shelves, including the tasting set.

Penfolds Joins The Festivities

As part of the launch, the outlet will also play host to a 15-day pop-up (1 to 15 February), featuring the best of Penfolds and be decked out in the winery’s iconic red bottles.

The pop-up will feature the brand-defining Grange, St Henri and chief winemaker Max Schubert’s revolutionary Max’s range, to name just a few. Patrons can enjoy two distinct tasting flights – a quartet of Koonunga Hill Autumn Riesling 2020, Max’s Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, Bin 8 2019 and Bin 28 2019 at $20 (70ml pour/glass) or a highlight of Penfold’s best, which includes Bin 389 2019, St. Henri Shiraz 2018, RWT Barossa Valley Shiraz 2018 and Grange 2017 at $128 (70ml pour/glass).

The Drink-In Concept

This is the second 8 by Bottles and Bottles outlet which works around the “it is always 8pm somewhere for a well-deserved drink” concept. In addition to wine retail, the venue offers wine and dine at the extra hospitality charges on products purchased and opened at the venue. At GWC, the official F&B partner is the Japanese charcoal grill restaurant Tajimaya but food can also be ordered from other establishments.

8 by Bottles & Bottles (Great World City) is at #01-K101 1 Kim Seng Promenade, Singapore 237994
