SECRET WINES
Inside a Private World of Wine

Epicure Vietnam

In Thảo Điền, Secret Wines unfolds as an intimate dialogue between artisanal French wines and finely judged cuisine. More than a wine bar, it is a cellar-led experience where rarity, personal guidance, and thoughtful pairing shape evenings defined by discovery, generosity, and an unhurried sense of pleasure.

Entering Secret Wines Thao Dien feels like stepping into a carefully held secret. The atmosphere is immediate and immersive, shaped by shelves of boutique French wines imported directly from small, independent producers. This is a space designed not for spectacle, but for closeness—where bottles, table, and conversation exist in deliberate proximity.
Wine is the foundation of every experience here. Guided personally by the owner, guests explore a cellar-driven selection rarely found elsewhere in Vietnam. Recommendations are intuitive rather than prescriptive, shaped by curiosity, mood, and the flow of the evening. Each bottle arrives with context of place, producer, and philosophy transforming pairing into a shared exchange.

The kitchen follows the same artisanal logic. Led by a young French chef and his team, shaped by experience in Michelin-starred kitchens, express an instinctive cuisine grounded in precision and respect for the product. Their personal, craft-driven menu is designed for guests, highlighting meticulous in-house charcuterie and uncompromising, high-quality ingredients. Each experience evolves naturally with seasonality and inspiration, offering a refined and sincere culinary identity.

Among the most defining dishes is the Crayfish Bisque, a deeply flavoured yet balanced preparation that opens the palate and pairs naturally with structured whites or lighter reds. The Cold Cuts and Cheese Prestige Platter, composed of carefully sourced French charcuterie and cheeses, offers a textural journey designed to highlight terroir and maturity in the glass.

More precise expressions appear through Seasonal Tartares, delicately seasoned and often prepared with subtle variations, allowing freshness and clarity to guide the pairing. On select evenings, themed menus introduce classical French bistro signatures—such as duck confit or steak-focused preparations—reinterpreted with restraint and designed to resonate with broader wine styles. Vegetarian-led courses also emerge during curated tasting events, demonstrating the kitchen’s sensitivity to balance and season.

Service is exacting yet warm, striking a balance between knowledge and ease. The rhythm of the evening is never rushed; dishes and wines unfold at a pace that encourages attention and conversation.

Recognised as Highly Recommended – Best Wine Bar at the Gourmet Vietnam Awards 2025, Secret Wines Thao Dien stands as a destination for those who value rarity over repetition, and craft over display—a place where wine, food, and human connection quietly align.
