Sequin Kay
The Artist Of Illuminated Inner Worlds

Across painting and mixed media, Sequin Kay builds a visual language of light, colour and reflection. Influenced by her South London upbringing and Moroccan-Irish heritage, her work explores the hidden emotional landscapes that connect personal experience with a wider sense of wonder.

Sequin Kay’s art begins with the inner world. Raised in South London, a place shaped by cultural diversity and creative energy, she developed an early sensitivity to colour, rhythm and visual storytelling. This sense of layered identity continues to inform her practice today, where personal history, spiritual research and intuitive expression come together in works that feel both intimate and expansive.

Kay formally trained in Fine Art and Painting at Camberwell College of Arts. After graduating, she continued to develop her practice in London studios, gradually forming a signature style that moves across multiple disciplines, including painting, textiles, sculpture, mixed media, digital projection and illustration.

Her artworks often carry a delicate sense of revelation. Through reflective surfaces, shimmering materials, pigment and geometric forms, Kay explores the unseen forces that shape human emotion. Her themes include the cosmos, automatic drawing, transpersonal psychology, shadow work, geometric symbolism and surrealism. Each collection is built through layers of personal process, philosophical research and emotional transformation, turning the act of making into a form of reflection and healing.

Kay’s Moroccan and Irish heritage appears in her work with subtlety. Rather than presenting culture through direct symbols, she allows memory, ritual and ancestral feeling to move through texture, pattern and atmosphere. This gives her artworks a distinctive visual tension: they are highly crafted, yet deeply instinctive; radiant on the surface, yet rooted in inner complexity.

Colour plays a central role in her practice. For Kay, pigment is not simply decorative. It becomes a language through which viewers can begin to understand their own emotions. She believes colour can open conversations around inner thoughts and feelings, offering a universal entry point into personal experience. In this way, her works invite stillness, contemplation and a deeper connection with the hidden parts of the self.

This belief in creativity as a source of transformation also extends beyond the studio. Kay has facilitated creative and educational workshops in schools around London, as well as at Soho House, The Idler Academy and in community settings in Beirut. Her practice reflects a strong interest in individual and collective healing, and in the role art can play in helping people understand what it means to be alive.

Kay’s works have been shown internationally, with exhibitions and presentations in Costa Rica, Canada, Berlin, London, Malta, Malaysia, Miami and Ibiza. She has also received several awards and residencies, including The Denis Diderot Grant and The Emerging Artist Grant at Château Orquevaux Art Residency in France.

Now developing high-end luxury art collections between Ibiza and London for private clients, Sequin Kay continues to create works that are luminous, symbolic and deeply personal. Her art invites viewers to look beyond surface beauty and enter a more reflective space, where shimmer becomes a sign of inner movement, and art becomes a quiet path toward wonder.
