Le Méridien Saigon has officially set the tone for the Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 with an elegant reveal of its latest mooncake collection, Moonlight Glamour. Held on July 4, the exclusive launch event marked one of the earliest unveilings among Saigon’s five-star hotels—blending tradition, contemporary art, and culinary innovation into one luminous celebration.

Begin Mooncake Season in Style

Guests were first greeted by a mesmerizing LED dance performance set against a moonlit backdrop, accompanied by a soundtrack merging Southern Vietnamese folk melodies with modern rhythms. The spectacle served as a prelude to the inspirations behind this year’s mooncakes—an homage to Saigon as it once was, and as it is now. This year’s mooncake box takes the form of a travel suitcase—an emblem of adventures and discovery—and is inspired by the vibrant glow of Saigon and the iconic Ba Son Bridge under a full moon. General Manager of Le Méridien Saigon, Mr. Lars Kerfin, introduced the collection as a celebration of Saigon in two moods: “Saigon Tales” reflects the city’s vibrant, contemporary momentum, while “Saigon Luxe” evokes old-world glamour and the mythical charm of the jewel of the Far East.

Saigon’s Soul Packed in Four Flavours
From there, Head Chef Phi Công took guests through a sensory journey of the mooncakes themselves—each one a study in contrast and refinement. Salted Caramel was smooth and delicately balanced, juxtaposing gentle sweetness with a refined salty note. XO Scallop offered a rich ode to Asian flavors, blending premium seafood with the iconic XO sauce. Roasted Chicken & Jambon presented a masterful East-meets-West composition of fine meats and meticulous technique. Last but not least, Black Sesame & Almond wove together the deep, roasted aroma of sesame and the gentle richness of almond into a velvety texture that balanced flavor and nourishment in equal measure. Each 150-gram cake, crafted from meticulously selected premium ingredients and delicately composed with a single salted yolk, revealed itself as a layered experience—designed for thoughtful indulgence.

Following the presentation, everybody was invited to taste the mooncakes, experiencing each flavor firsthand. The evening then flowed into a cocktail-style gathering, where guests sipped mocktails echoing the mooncakes’ profiles and nibbled on canapés thoughtfully curated by Head Chef Phi Công. It all unfolded with quiet ease—like moonlight spilling onto a riverbank.
