Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel
Celestial Wonders And The Craft Of Reunion

Van Ho

For Mid-Autumn 2026, Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel unveils Celestial Wonders, a collection shaped by the poetry of the night sky and a 23-year tradition of handcrafted mooncakes at Li Bai. Four collectible gift boxes, eight signature flavours and enduring craftsmanship come together in a celebration of reunion and memory.

Mid-Autumn has always been a season of symbols: the full moon, the gathering table, the gift chosen with care. This year, Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel looks to the heavens for Celestial Wonders, translating those familiar rituals into four keepsake editions inspired by celestial forms and designed to remain long after the festival has passed.

Tinh Thanh – The First Starlight is the collection’s most serene expression. Its slender horizontal form recalls a shooting star, finished in cool celadon jade with gilded wave motifs that shift gently with the light. Once the mooncakes are gone, it becomes a home for handwritten letters, greeting cards and small personal treasures.

Tú Sắc – A Graceful Constellation takes the shape of a miniature cabinet in rich emerald jade. Fine gilded lotus motifs, a supple leather handle and twin front doors give it a graceful sense of function. Beyond Mid-Autumn, it can be repurposed for jewellery, cosmetics or everyday keepsakes.

Kỳ Ngọc – A Rare Jewel Of The Galaxy brings a more artisanal sensibility. Standing tall in deep emerald, the cabinet is distinguished by hand embroidery depicting a lotus pond beneath a starlit sky. The tactile surface lends it the presence of a collectible object, intended to hold fine tea, jewellery or cherished mementos.

Thiên Bảo – The Full Moon Ascendant is the VVIP edition and the collection’s most ceremonial piece. Wrapped in deep-green PU leather, its circular silhouette echoes the completeness of the full moon. Inside, a two-tier arrangement holds four handcrafted mooncakes, premium tea and a wooden spinning top, introducing a nostalgic Vietnamese gesture into the ritual of gifting.

Behind the celestial imagery lies a story defined by human hands. Since 2003, every Sheraton Saigon mooncake has been handcrafted at Li Bai Cantonese Restaurant under Chef Diep Nhieu, using traditional Chinese techniques refined across 23 seasons. Each 220-gram pastry features an exceptionally fine crust, approximately one millimetre thick, made with house-cooked cane sugar syrup and no preservatives. In 2026, production is expected to approach 200,000 pieces while remaining entirely handmade.

Eight flavours complete the collection. Mixed Nuts and the best-selling XO Scallop anchor the savoury selection, while White Lotus Seed, Pandan Lotus Seed, Black Sesame and Longjing Tea preserve familiar Mid-Autumn notes. Cranberry and Yuzu offer a brighter contemporary counterpoint.

Celestial Wonders ultimately finds its luxury not in excess, but in continuity: craftsmanship preserved, flavours remembered and objects designed to outlast a season. It is a Mid-Autumn collection conceived not simply to be opened, but to be kept.
