2 Vineyards In Ninh Thuan That Await Your Discovery

Along the south-central coast of Vietnam, in Ninh Thuan, viticulture is on the rise, with local vineyards making a small name for themselves among wine connoisseurs in the country. Try the local tipple in this great grape-growing region.

Ninh Thuan is Vietnam’s largest grape producer, home to 20-odd wine estates. Once ripe, wineries buy these grapes to age in Dalat, while other facilities in Ninh Thuan produce their own local products, such as jam, wine and honey.

Ninh Thuan’s grape economy has propelled the region to become a tourism hotspot, where visitors can have the vineyard experience, handpicking plump, delicious grapes from the vines. You can too by visiting these worthy destinations.

Thai An Vineyard

Located approximately 30 kilometres northeast of Phan Rang - Thap Cham city centre, Thai An Vineyard is one of Ninh Thuan province’s oldest grape-growing areas and is famous for its red grape variety.

Freely open to the public, you can explore the grounds any day of the week as they are bathed in sunlight, casting shadows beneath the grape vines you can wander under and admire the fresh produce.

The warm and welcoming owner will invite you to cut fresh grapes for you to enjoy, and tell you all about the fascinating work they do. Sample some of the vineyard’s lovingly produced offerings, such as grape jam and grape syrup, and of course, wine.

Don’t forget to capture your picture-perfect Instagram moment, as the vineyard provides a colourful backdrop to your photos.

February through till September is the best time to visit for ideal weather conditions, and to witness the harvest of their juicy red grapes.

Ba Moi Vineyard

Another beautiful Ninh Thuan vineyard waiting to welcome you is Ba Moi Vineyard. Located in the Ninh Phuoc district, this gorgeous spot is well known among tourists and locals for their red grapes, green grapes, and black grapes grown just 15 minutes away from Phan Rang city centre.

You may not be able to pick grapes yourself at this vineyard, but you’re still free to roam around and take pictures, learn more about the winemaking process and bring home some of their packaged products.

The vineyard belongs to farmer Nguyen Van Moi, and is proud to supply fresh grapes to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as host visitors at his ecotourism site. He also grows four varieties of grape used to make wine, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc and two types of Syrah.

Come visit this friendly farmer and appreciate the work he has put into his vineyard over his 70-plus years of age.
