There is something magical about experiencing a resort through the lens of family travel. On this trip to Pullman Phu Quoc Beach Resort, I was joined by my sister, her eight-year-old daughter, and my fifteen-year-old daughter a lively, multi-generational quartet ready to enjoy the island’s beauty and the resort’s culinary treasures.

From the moment we arrived, the welcome felt personal. Check-in at the Connectivity Lounge on Level One was swift yet warm, complete with refreshing welcome drinks. Our Suite Ocean Room was a delight—its balcony offering a panoramic sweep over the beach, mainpool, and the endless blue of the Gulf of Thailand.
Pullman Phu Quoc Beach Resort turns dining into an island voyage, with six distinctive venues: Salt ’n’ Pepper, Sea Stars, Mad Cow Wine & Grill, Beach House – Beach Club, Coconutz Pool Bar, and Lighthouse Bar. For our family, Salt ’n’ Pepper became a favourite gathering spot. In the mornings, the buffet’s live stations tempted with steaming bowls of beef phở, golden pancakes, and grilled cuttlefish fresh from the market. By lunch and dinner, the menu revealed signature highlights such as Vietnamese pancakes “Bánh Xèo” with inventive toppings, grilled chicken on tray “Mẹt Gà”, platters of smoky grilled seafood, and Mongolian stir-fried noodles. The girls were thrilled to order their own favourites, crispy chicken nuggets, pasta aglio e olio, and fried beef with rice topped with a sunny-side-up egg—while we indulged in desserts plated with artistic finesse.

Evenings at Sea Stars were a celebration of the ocean’s bounty: oysters served briny and grilled, scallops seared to perfection, tiger prawns brushed with fragrant herbs, slipper lobster charred over open flames, and seafood cooked Cajun-style, ending with a theatrical flaming dessert.
Mad Cow Wine & Grill offered the drama of the grill, where Australian Angus ribeye, tenderloin, and sirloin were seared over mango and rambutan wood for a distinctive smokiness. Maddie’s Big Boards showcased tomahawk and porterhouse cuts carved tableside, complemented by indulgent add-ons like bone marrow with truffle oil. Not to be missed were the crab black pasta and the Phu Quoc spiny lobster char-grilled with garlic butter before finishing with crêpe suzette flambéed at the table or gold-leaf-wrapped vanilla ice cream with rum-flamed bananas.

At Beach House – Beach Club, coastal ease met local flavour through grilled prawn paste “chạo tôm” with rice noodles, Mỳ Quảng, and bánh mì chả cá Phú Quốc. Coconutz became the children’s paradise for towering ice-cream creations drizzled with tropical fruit coulis, while Lighthouse Bar delivered the perfect tropical-inspired cocktails and artisan coffees to close each day.

Between meals, the resort offered as much activity as relaxation. The children happily immersed themselves in the kids’ club while my sister and I enjoyed the well-equipped gym, followed by a tranquil yoga session led by an instructor. The Pullman Spa was another highlight my Deep Tissue massage eased away travel fatigue, while my daughter’s Aroma Massage left her utterly relaxed.

Here, food is never just what’s on the plate. It’s the laughter over crispy nuggets and lobster, the clink of glasses over grilled steak, the scent of herbs from a steaming bowl of phở, and the sweetness of flaming crêpes under the glow of candlelight. At Pullman Phu Quoc Beach Resort, dining becomes part of your island story, an experience to savour long after the journey home.
