Once again, the Spanish gastronomic event “Open Day” reaffirmed its role as a key gourmet milestone of the year. Held on Friday, July 18th at the Caravelle Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, the event gathered over 200 professionals from the food and beverage industry.

Vietnam, known for its vibrant street food culture, is increasingly embracing high-end gourmet products, with Spain becoming a key reference. Extra virgin olive oil, one of the first Spanish products introduced in Vietnam, remains a highlight. At this year’s “Open Day”, a strong lineup of Spanish olive oil brands was showcased: Atlas Finefood featured La Española, Coosur, and Altivo; Classic Fine Foods offered Castillo de Canena; Gourmet Partner brought Omed; while New Viet Dairy presented Rafael Salgado and Sabroso.
According to the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy, organizers of the event, while olive oil is already well distributed, the market holds strong growth potential, with its diverse regional flavors awaiting discovery by Vietnam’s emerging gourmet consumers.

Iberico pork was another standout. Several companies showcased the zenith of Iberico pork – its ham – such as Classic Fine Foods with La Prudencia, Food Mart with Nico Jamones or La Alegria, Gourmet Partner with Casalba and Tinh Hoa Toan Cau with Deraza and Montesano. But the selection didn’t stop at ham and cold cuts. Gourmet Partner, New Viet Dairy, and Tinh Hoa Toan Cau featured their range of Iberico meat, increasingly demanded in restaurants and hotels.
As the world’s biggest producer of wine, of course there was a remarkable lineup of Spanish wineries. So Sexy Wines showed up with Pesquera, Sierra Cantabria, Cubero, Langa, El Puntido, Pinna Fidelis, Torremorón, to cite but a few, while New Viet Dairy and Tinh Hoa Toan Cau offered tastings from their wine portfolios.

One new sector in this edition was bakery and sweets, with Hann highlighting sourdough croissants from Panamar Bakery and Hyperion displaying sweets from Vidal and Lacasitos, while introducing themselves as the new representatives of Gullón.
With this latest edition, Open Day 2025 confirms its place as a key event in Vietnam’s growing gourmet landscape.
