Marking 80 years of connecting worlds, Cathay Pacific unveils a refined new link between Hong Kong and Seattle. This five times weekly service expands its North American presence while reflecting a broader vision of seamless global travel, where innovation, comfort and cultural exchange meet at 35,000 feet with quiet elegance.

In a gesture that speaks as much to legacy as it does to future ambition, Cathay Pacific introduces its latest long haul route connecting Hong Kong with Seattle through a five times weekly non stop service. This addition brings the airline’s North American network to nine destinations, reinforcing its role as a vital bridge between Asia and the West.

More than a new route, this launch arrives as part of Cathay Pacific’s 80th anniversary, a milestone that celebrates decades of shaping global mobility. The inaugural flight was operated by the airline’s specially adorned Airbus A350, featuring the distinctive lettuce leaf sandwich livery, a nostalgic tribute to its enduring journey since 1946.

Seattle, often regarded as one of America’s most forward thinking cities, presents a natural counterpart to Hong Kong’s own dynamic energy. Both are centres of innovation, commerce and cultural vitality, making this connection more than geographical. It becomes a dialogue between two modern cities defined by creativity and global influence.
The route is serviced by Cathay Pacific’s Airbus A350 900, an aircraft designed with understated elegance in mind. In Business class, fully flat beds offer a private sanctuary above the clouds, while Premium Economy introduces a sense of spacious refinement. Even in Economy, widely recognised among the world’s finest, comfort is approached with considered precision, reflecting the airline’s commitment to thoughtful design at every level.

Behind this expansion lies a broader vision. Cathay Pacific has committed over HK$100 billion towards enhancing its fleet, cabin experience, lounges and digital ecosystem. The Seattle service becomes part of a larger narrative, one that places seamless travel, intuitive service and elevated comfort at its core.

This summer, the airline operates close to 120 return flights weekly across North America, including key cities such as Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Toronto and Vancouver. Beyond passenger travel, the Seattle service also strengthens cargo capacity, with additional bellyhold space complementing an extensive freighter network.

In essence, the Hong Kong to Seattle connection is not simply an expansion. It is a continuation of a philosophy that understands travel not merely as movement, but as experience, connection and quiet refinement across continents.
