Monte-Carlo Beach
The Return of An Icon

Reopening on April 13, 2026, Monte-Carlo Beach returns not simply as a hotel, but as a Riviera institution. Here, Mediterranean elegance unfolds through design, gastronomy, and slow living, inviting a new season in which time drifts gently between sea, sun, and celebration with effortless grace.

Established in 1929, Monte-Carlo Beach has long stood as a sanctuary for aesthetes and global travelers in search of sea, sun, and effortless luxury. Affectionately known simply as “the Beach” by its devoted patrons, the hotel measures time not by rigid schedules, but by the rhythm of the Mediterranean and the scent of coastal pines.

There is a certain constancy here. The Mediterranean still stretches endlessly beyond the horizon, pine trees release their scent into the afternoon breeze, and light moves across the terraces with a softness that feels almost choreographed. It is this atmosphere, more than any single offering, that defines Monte-Carlo Beach: an environment where emotion replaces schedule, and presence becomes the true luxury.

With just 40 rooms, including 14 suites and junior suites, the property remains deliberately intimate. As part of Relais & Châteaux, its scale allows for a form of hospitality that feels personal rather than performative. Interiors by India Mahdavi bring a contemporary sensibility to the Riviera vernacular, balancing color, texture, and restraint in a way that feels both timeless and quietly modern.

For those seeking absolute exclusivity, the estate’s crown jewel is Villa La Vigie. Built in 1902, the Belle Époque residence carries a layered past, having once been home to Karl Lagerfeld, and now stands as a sanctuary overlooking Monaco and the curve of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. Surrounded by landscaped gardens and anchored by a heated pool, the villa offers a vantage point from which the Riviera reveals itself in full: cinematic, expansive, and deeply serene. It is no surprise that it continues to host some of the most intimate and celebrated gatherings, including the recent wedding of Charles and Alexandra Leclerc.

The 2026 season also introduces new culinary expressions. At La Vigie Monte-Carlo, Italian spirit meets coastal ease, evoking a version of dolce vita that feels both nostalgic and immediate. It joins a distinguished lineup of signature venues, including the refined Mediterranean cuisine of Le Deck and the festive, Greek-inspired energy of Maona Monte-Carlo. Anchoring the property’s gastronomic journey is Elsa, the Michelin-starred destination led by Chef Marcel Ravin, where his poetic “Jardin Marin” concept transforms the bounty of the sea into elevated, edible art.

And yet, for returning guests, it is simply “the Beach.” A place where families gather without ceremony, where friendships unfold over long lunches, and where aesthetes and travelers return year after year not out of habit, but out of affection. Here, elegance is never forced, and luxury is felt in the ease of being fully present.

Monte-Carlo Beach does not announce itself loudly. It lingers in light, in memory, and in the quiet understanding that some places do not merely endure through time, but deepen with it.
