ENASIA and CASICO unveiled the first edition of Spain Top Wines in Vietnam, an event that quietly marked a new chapter in the international journey of Spanish wines. More than a simple gathering, it became a meeting point where heritage, craftsmanship, and ambition converged, establishing itself as the most significant Spanish wine showcase ever held in the country.

More than 250 guests, including importers, distributors, sommeliers, and hospitality professionals, came together in a shared expression of curiosity and growing appreciation for Spanish wines within Vietnam’s evolving culinary landscape. Supported by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, along with partners such as Vietnam Airlines, LYT, LUCARIS, and Sofitel, the event carried both credibility and a distinct sense of occasion, elevating it far beyond a conventional tasting.

At the heart of the event were 14 Spanish wineries—Alvear, Grandes Vinos, Viña Guareña, Enate, Muriel, Bodegas Osca, Callejo, Langa, El Grillo, Toro Albala, Franco Españolas, Luzón, Sierra Cantabria, and Romale—each presenting wines that had earned 90 points or more. Together, they offered a rich and layered portrait of Spain’s wine identity, spanning regions, grape varieties, and styles. This diversity was not merely on display, but fully experienced, inviting guests to journey through Spain’s vineyards in the course of a single afternoon.

One of the event’s defining highlights was a masterclass led by D. Pedro Ballesteros, Spain’s first Master of Wine. With more than 50 highly engaged participants, the session unfolded as both an intellectual and sensory exploration, deepening understanding of Spanish terroir while reinforcing the global relevance of its wines. His presence brought a rare sense of authority to the occasion, elegantly bridging tradition and contemporary perspective.
Every detail, from the curation of the wineries to the structure of the tasting experience, was designed to encourage meaningful dialogue and genuine connection. Conversations moved naturally from glass to business, from appreciation to opportunity, transforming the event into a platform where relationships could truly take root.

In its inaugural edition, Spain Top Wines did more than exceed expectations. It established itself as a cornerstone for the promotion of Spanish wine in Southeast Asia, while also signaling Vietnam’s rising importance as a destination for premium international wines. With strong engagement and enthusiastic feedback from both attendees and producers, the event has laid a promising foundation for a platform that will continue to grow, connecting cultures, markets, and the enduring language of wine in the years to come.
